If you run a Government-length double stack 1911, this is the full-capacity mag Nighthawk Custom makes for it. The 140mm stainless tube holds 20 rounds of 9mm, and it comes from the same shop that hand-fits Nighthawk pistols one gunsmith at a time.

What sets it apart

• Tough tube: heat-treated, tempered stainless steel stands up to hard use and resists corrosion.
• Smooth feeding: the tube is tumbled and polished to cut friction, and parallel feed lips present each round to the ramp at the same angle with any brand of ammo. An integrated feed ramp helps the round on its way.
• Locks back on empty: the slide locks open after the last round.
• Round check at a glance: load indicator holes on the sides let you see how full it is without weakening the tube.
• Easy to service: it comes apart for cleaning, and a solid stop keeps it from being over-inserted.

Break-in tip from Nighthawk: a new mag can feel stiff at first. Leave it fully loaded for a few days, load and unload it 15 to 20 times, then seat and drop it empty from your 1911 a few times with the slide locked back. The spring smooths out quickly.
