The Magpul PMAG D-60 gives your AR-15 or M4 the round count of two standard 30-round mags in a single drum. The drum shape keeps it short enough to shoot prone and easy to stash in a range bag, and it seats fully loaded on a closed bolt.
Why it’s worth a look
- Easy to load: a ratcheting lever takes spring tension off so you can top it off by hand, partly or all the way. The feed tower also takes USGI stripper clips and guides, the StripLULA, and most other loaders.
- Runs like a PMAG: an anti-tilt follower and constant-curve internals keep feeding smooth, and the drum holds the bolt open after the last round on most AR-15/M4/HK416 rifles.
- Built tough: impact- and crush-resistant polymer body with corrosion-resistant components. Magpul designs it to be stored loaded long term.
- Simple upkeep: strips for cleaning with nothing more than a flat-blade screwdriver. A slip-on dust cover keeps dirt out in storage and transport.
- Quick round check: a see-through panel on the back shows how many rounds are left, and a paint-pen dot matrix panel lets you mark your mags.
Good to know: Magpul optimizes the D-60 for 5.56×45 NATO and .223 Remington only and does not recommend other calibers such as .300 Blackout. Bolt hold-open won’t trigger if you insert an empty drum and cycle the charging handle by hand, and it may not work on rifles whose bolt catch isn’t Colt-spec.
