The Springfield Armory Echelon 4.0FC (model EC9409BFC-U) splits the difference between the full-size Echelon 4.5F and the compact 4.0C. Its dedicated FC grip module gives you the full-length grip of the 4.5F for capacity and recoil control, paired with the short dust cover and 4″ slide of the 4.0C for quicker handling and easier carry.
Inside is Springfield’s Central Operating Group, a self-contained, serialized stainless steel chassis that can be moved between grip modules in seconds. The billet machined slide wears a Melonite finish and is optics ready through the Variable Interface System, which uses movable pins to direct mount a red dot low for a natural sight picture. The 4″ hammer forged barrel has a 1:10 twist and Melonite finish, running on a captive recoil system.
Out of the box it carries a tritium and luminescent front sight with Springfield’s Tactical Rack U-Dot rear, and the controls are fully ambidextrous. It ships with one flush 17-round magazine and one extended 20-round magazine, plus Springfield’s double-zipper soft handgun case.
