The Ruger American Rifle Generation II (model 46902) chambered in .308 is a do-it-all deer and range rifle that stays light on the walk in and settles down fast at the bench. The 20″ cold hammer-forged barrel is a medium contour with deep spiral flutes and a 1:10″ twist, a natural match for the classic .308 bullet weights. It is threaded 5/8″-24 and ships with a factory radial port muzzle brake, so you can run the brake or swap to a can. Feeding is from an AI-style detachable magazine, and Power Bedding positively locates the receiver while floating the barrel.
Ruger’s Marksman Adjustable trigger is user-set from 3 to 5 pounds. The stainless one-piece bolt is CNC machined with three lugs and a short 70° lift that clears large optics, and the oversized handle uses a 5/16″-24 thread for easy upgrades. The three-position tang safety keeps the bolt locked but still lets you load with the safety engaged. You get a factory one-piece Picatinny base, a removable low comb for scoped shooting, and a spacer that sets length of pull at 13.75″ or 12″. Included are one 3-round magazine and steel sling swivel studs.
